Job description

SUMMARY OF POSITION
The LPI Compression Lead Specialist serves as the operational leader of the compression team and is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of compression facilities and related equipment. This position provides direct leadership, oversight, training, and guidance to Compression Operators, Site Leads, Maintenance Technicians, and Drivers, ensuring consistent execution of operational, maintenance, and safety standards across the district. Acting as the designated representative of the Compression Manager when required, the Compression Lead Specialist serves as the primary point of contact and decision-maker during periods when the Compression Manager is out of the basin or otherwise unavailable, ensuring continuity of operations and effective team leadership.
The Compression Lead Specialist oversees and executes station maintenance activities with a focus on developing internal maintenance capabilities, improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and minimizing reliance on third-party service providers whenever practical. The role works closely with the Compression Manager, Logistics Coordinator, Dispatch, and District Manager to support daily operations and business objectives while promoting a strong culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence. This position is responsible for leading safety meetings, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining adherence to all company policies, procedures, and industry standards.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
โ€ข Must successfully obtain and maintain the required CNG certification from the Railroad Commission of Texas (TXRRC).
โ€ข Knowledge of and experience with Ariel compressors, including operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
โ€ข Knowledge of natural gas composition/gas quality, measurement facilities and gas treatment equipment.
โ€ข Able to perform all CNG related tasks as needed.
โ€ข Passion for safety and always making sure it is top priority.
โ€ข Knowledgeable of Company policies and HSE standards.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
โ€ข Promptly identify and address challenges at the compression station to minimize supply chain disruptions.
โ€ข Plan, supervise, and execute maintenance activities to ensure the CNG facility is maintained in optimal condition, while developing internal maintenance capabilities and reducing reliance on third-party service providers whenever practical.
โ€ข Lead equipment reliability efforts by tracking failures, conducting root cause analyses, and implementing corrective and preventive actions to improve station performance, increase uptime, and reduce maintenance costs.
โ€ข Provide training and guidance to LPI personnel at the compression station.
โ€ข Continuously monitor trailer payloads to identify opportunities for process optimization and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency.
โ€ข Accurately Report Equipment Failures and Maintenance Activities to the district Maintenance Service Coordinator to ensure accurate Work Order and Equipment History
โ€ข Maintain regular communication with the LPI District Manager and Logistics Manager to ensure smooth and complete operations.

โ€ข Operate and maintain assigned equipment in accordance with service operating procedures.
โ€ข Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of compression station throughput.
โ€ข Ensure compliance with local regulations and codes governing the facility.
โ€ข Perform all duties in compliance with company policies and procedures to meet applicable industry regulations.
โ€ข Maintain required safety equipment certifications and ensure all equipment is fit for job conditions.
