The hours for this position are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
The Fabrication operator's duties and responsibilities may include but not be limited to the following:
  • Fabricates plastic rods, slabs, and sheets in accordance with Shop Orders.
  • Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
  • Reads and interprets Shop Orders
  • Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements
  • Uses precision tools, machinery and equipment such as lathes, vertical milling machines, drill presses, chop saws, band saws, and planers
  • Properly and safely selects, aligns, secures and removes holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machine
  • Recognizes, deploys and properly uses inserts, fixtures and tooling
  • Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment
  • Evaluates experimental procedures and recommends change or modifications for efficiency and adaptability to setup and production
  • Possesses ability to track parts and jobs
  • Utilizes and abides by all safety procedures
  • Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions

Requirements
Fabrication operator skills and abilities required:
  • Operation of manual lathes, drill presses and other standard job shop machines
  • Must understand materials, cutting tools, speeds and feeds and machining techniques
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Mechanical ability
  • Proper use of hand and power tools
  • Basic awareness of electricity and the risks attached
  • Responsible for personal safety and the safety of those around him/her

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License
  • At least two (2) year experience in a job shop atmosphere
  • Knowledge in the safe operation of the following equipment: horizontal lathes of all sizes, portable resurfacing machines and drill presses
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
