Job description

The Pharmacy Operations Coordinator participates, and oversees, various activities of pharmacy practice such as prescription order entry, claim adjudication, preparation & dispensing of medications, medication distribution, non- sterile and sterile compounding, inventory management, including the use of automated pharmacy device and equipment, record maintenance, handling of controlled substances, communication with patients, and maintenance of assigned areas. Coordinator participates in or leads the implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and optimizations of standards and workflows in designated area of specialty. There is an expectation to execute audits, interviews, performance evaluations, training, and / or education. Pharmacy operations coordination's function independently and at the direction of pharmacy leaders. In addition, Pharmacy Operations Coordinators assess and adjust for the age-specific needs of the patients and are responsible for performing duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital and state and federal regulations.
Qualifications
  • Education: Associate degree
  • Registered pharmacy technician or Pharmacist Intern
  • Certification or completion of a professionally recognized training program in a related specialty area
  • Two (2) years of practice experience in relevant practice setting. Advanced experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
