Position 

As an Engineering Technician you will be responsible for supporting the Engineering team and production through hands on support, troubleshooting, work instruction updates and validation. 

What you will do:

  • Laying up pre-preg parts wtih complex geometries in a development setting.
  • Support and work with Design Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Work closely with production leadership and team members to assess and analyze ongoing issues.
  • Interact with production floor workers and production management to Identify root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Initiate Engineering Changes and follow the Engineering Change process.
  • Create work instructions and Industrial writing Work with Operations ERP System.
  • Provide accurate time estimates to production management on process routings.

What you will need to be successful:

  • Utilize existing solid modeling software. (i.e., Solidworks, Autocad, lnventor)
  • Ability to read and understand standard ISO drawings
  • Problem solving abilities
  • Working knowledge of precision measuring Instruments
  • Familiarity with CNC Machining Process and the capabilities 
  • Able to learn material quickly
  • Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to alter work schedule to occasionally work around production schedules.
  • Experience with GD&T a plus
  • Exposure to industrial manufacturing and/or composite manufacturing a plus
  • Familiarity with different molding processes beneficial
  • Prior experience with pre-preg layup with complex geometries preferred
  • Two-year technical degree preferred


Working Conditions

While performing the typical duties of this job, employees will experience the conditions noted below. PPE is provided to protect employees against physical harm or hazards in the workplace environment.

  • Exposure to loud sounds and distracting noise levels
  • Exposure to hazardous equipment
  • Exposure to contaminants
  • Usually work indoors. These sites may not be temperature controlled
  • Shared workspaces with other employees
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling, and bending
  • Standing and/or walking for 8 to 12 or more hours per day (varies based on role, shift, and overtime)
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.


Required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

Required PPE provided by SEKISUI Aerospace based on the employee’s position and exposure. Below are typical PPE used on the production floor. Appropriate PPE must be worn by all employees when on the production floor.

  • Ear Plugs - Earmuffs
  • Full Face Shield
  • Gloves (Latex, Rubber, Chemical Resistant, General Duty)
  • Protective Apron
  • Respirator
  • Safety Glasses - Safety Goggles
