Job description

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Inspects, diagnoses, and repairs brake systems, engines, electrical components, steering systems, transmissions, drive trains, and tires for tractors,
trailers, and refrigeration equipment
* Performs preventative maintenance services, including changing oil, checking fluids, inspecting batteries, testing lights, and lubricating equipment
* Establishes and maintains positive working relationships
* Receives and carries out instructions
* Maintains regular and predictable attendance
* Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Extensive knowledge of all aspects of vehicle repair
* Excellent mechanical repair skills
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues
* Ability to read service and repair manuals
* Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion
* Ability to read work orders
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Associate degree; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
* Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present
* Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 100lbs.
* Must be able to inspect vehicle to determine repairs needed
* Good vision to inspect repair work
* Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS
ASE certified and DOT inspection certified as required by supervisor
EPA Certification for Federal Clean Air Act 609 as required by supervisor and/or location
EPA Certification for Federal Clean Air Act 608 as required by supervisor and/or location
Valid driver's license as required by supervisor, with CDL Class A driver's license preferred
OTHER
Must have own tools
Safety shoes (steel or composite toe) required
