Job description

We are the world's top supplier of automotive test facilities, providing a full range of services to commercial automotive industry customers. Customers include not only the world's major vehicle providers and other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), but also clients from the international motor sports community.
We are hiring Engine Test Technicians to work at the Engine Dyno lab in Dearborn, MI.
Job Details:
  • Develop and implement test plans for validation of Body / Chassis components, systems and full vehicles.
  • Design, review and update operational test procedures to ensure maximum facility and operational efficiencies.
  • Plan, design, conduct and write reports for component development, and testing.
  • Develop and implement new test procedures to verify new designs and technology.
  • Ensure that all facilities and test equipment are properly maintained to conduct high quality testing.
  • Verify quality of test data by applying statistical methods.
  • Work with Design and Release Engineers to develop test plans to maximize the utilization of prototype components and systems, test fixtures and facilities.
  • Ensure test procedures are correlated to real world customer usage.
  • Develop and implement maintenance and calibration procedures to ensure all test equipment is functioning properly.
  • Perform basic test automation functions such as test automation setup and execution.
  • Lead in the development of new equipment specifications to ensure that any new equipment meets all testing requirements.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND /OR SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • B.S. in Engineering from an accredited school
  • Strong MS Office suite and computer skills, including fundamentals around application of Excel-VB macro development
  • Excellent leadership, communications and interpersonal skills; Ability to function as part of a team and work cooperatively toward team goals
  • Qualified candidates will work well under pressure, demonstrate excellent problem solving and creativity, and be able to quickly evaluate new information and make appropriate decisions.
  • Ability to develop & deliver business cases and presentations, project documentation to be delivered to upper management.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS in ME/EE.
  • 1+ year experience in lab testing.
  • Working knowledge of servo hydraulic systems, supporting facilities equipment (fixed and mobile), control software fundamentals and data acquisition including RPC Pro Simulation Software and Multi-Axis Testing.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic and electrometric test equipment and controllers
  • Applied understanding of Measurement Uncertainty, Equipment Calibration, Data Acquisition, Control Systems Fundamentals, SPC, QOS, FMEA, G8D and 6-Sigma skill set or certification.
  • Ability to develop & deliver business cases and presentations, project documentation to be delivered to upper management
  • Experience managing testing at labs including forecasting, maintaining schedules, ensuring quality testing on schedule.
  • Post test data processing for accurate test results.
