Job description

HelloFresh is seeking a Senior Associate, Claims & Risk Management to join our team! In this role, you'll support day-to-day operations across claims management, reporting, and insurance program administration. The position is primarily focused on our Workers' Compensation program, with additional support for a smaller portfolio of Property, Subrogation (Recovery), and Commercial Auto claims as needed.
If you're an experienced claims professional ready for a new challenge beyond managing a high-volume caseload, this is an opportunity to bring your claims expertise into a corporate risk environment. You'll gain broader exposure across multiple areas of risk management while helping identify trends, improve claims outcomes, support risk mitigation, and contribute to the overall risk strategy of a growing organization.
This role is a great fit for someone looking to make a career move that offers greater variety, broader responsibility, and room to grow beyond traditional claims adjusting.
You will...
  • Partner closely with HelloFresh's claims TPA to support effective claims management, improve outcomes, and help control claim severity.
  • Monitor active Workers' Compensation claims throughout the claim lifecycle, including adjuster and site follow-ups, aging claims, outstanding action items, and next steps.
  • Build, maintain, and validate claims dashboards and reports; analyze loss data to identify trends, emerging risks, and recurring root causes, and partner with internal stakeholders on action plans.
  • Track Return-to-Work progress and compliance-related activities, including audit support and timely updates across systems.
  • Support subrogation and recovery efforts by tracking opportunities, following up on outstanding items, and maintaining required documentation.
  • Assist with escalated claims involving complex investigations, litigation, significant injuries, or other high-risk exposures.
  • Partner with the internal Legal team and external defense counsel across multiple states to manage and support litigation matters, including claim strategy, documentation, and ongoing case coordination.
  • Support insurance program renewals through exposure data collection, analysis, and preparation of supporting information.
  • Review claim files and collaborate with TPAs on reserve adequacy, claim strategy, and recommended next steps.
  • Partner cross-functionally with internal teams to gather documentation, resolve issues, and facilitate timely and effective claim handling.
  • Participate in regular meetings with insurance carriers, brokers, and TPAs to monitor claims, address open issues, and support overall program execution.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, improve reporting, and enhance claims workflows.
  • Support additional claims, insurance, and risk management initiatives as needed.

At a minimum, you have...
  • 3-4 years of workers' compensation claims experience, either as a WC claims adjuster at a TPA/carrier or in a corporate risk management function managing a WC program directly
  • Strong Excel and data skills; experience with RMIS platforms (Riskonnect or similar) and Power BI is a plus
  • Familiarity with TPA workflows, loss run analysis, and claim lifecycle management
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple active claims simultaneously
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs, with a flexible approach to shifting priorities, processes, and responsibilities
  • Proactive communicator who can work independently and flag issues without being prompted
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; will consider candidates with a high school diploma and qualifying experience
  • ARM, AIC, CPCU, or other risk/insurance designations are a plus but not required

You'll get...
  • Competitive Salary & 401k company match that vests immediately upon participation
  • Generous parental leave of 16 weeks & PTO policy
  • $0 monthly premium and other flexible health plans
  • 85% discount on your subscription to HelloFresh (as well as other product initiatives)
  • Employee Resource Groups
  • Collaborative, dynamic work environment within a fast-paced, mission-driven company

This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the responsibilities. However, the Company reserves the right to adjust, modify, or reassign work tasks and responsibilities as needed to meet changing business needs, operational requirements, or other factors.
