Job description

SCOPE OF POSITION: Responsible for a wide range of compliance functions including compliance auditing and monitoring, investigations, internal customer support, risk assessments, policy development, and compliance training. Serves as the department's primary technology resource and subject matter expert for compliance management systems, SharePoint, reporting platforms, and other compliance-related technologies. Exercises independent judgment and discretion in planning, prioritizing, and completing assigned work with minimal supervision.

Research, analyze, and resolve complex compliance and operational issues while ensuring adherence to organizational policies, contractual requirements, and applicable state and federal regulations. Develop strong working relationships across the organization and effectively communicate with all levels of staff. Supports AFMC's mission, vision, and values through honesty, excellence, accountability, respect, and teamwork.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Independently plan, prioritize, and execute compliance projects, audits, monitoring activities, investigations, and reporting responsibilities while meeting established deadlines and objectives. Serve as the Compliance Department technology lead for compliance management platforms, including user support, configuration, testing, and reporting. Analyze data from multiple sources and prepare meaningful reports, dashboards, and presentations to support compliance monitoring, investigations, and decision-making.

Troubleshoot system issues, identify process improvement opportunities, and recommend technology-based solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Utilize advanced computer applications and software tools to manage compliance activities, analyze information, prepare reports, and maintain documentation. Exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive, confidential, and highly regulated information.

Adhere to format, content, and style guidelines, considering usability and ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality. Collaborate with leadership within Compliance Department regarding process improvement, service levels, and customer service initiatives. Collaborate with management in development, maintenance and implementation of compliance policies and procedures.

Communicate needs and requests to other team members as appropriate. Compose, proofread, and distribute outgoing correspondence. Conduct investigations into alleged violations of company ethics, compliance, or business conduct practices.

Conduct routine and/or focused internal audits of policy/procedure/contract adherence. Develop and present employee and manager compliance training sessions as requested. Develop compliance policies and procedures as requested or directed.

Disseminate information and educate AFMC employees on compliance related topics. Ensure compliance with AFMC policy, contractual obligations and state and federal laws. Follow AFMC, state and federal protocols regarding data confidentiality/security and HIPAA compliance.

Maintain compliance files and ensure accuracy, consistency, and security of files. Maintain current knowledge of corporate contracts with emphasis on compliance. Maintain Links to Contract Laws and Regulations spreadsheet.

Maintain compliance SharePoint site. Prepare compliance required documents as needed. Prepare reports for compliance contract deliverables.

Prepare written investigative/audit report and articulate findings and recommendations for resolution of misconduct. Provide internal and external customer service including compliance policy interpretation, problem resolution, and general assistance. Serve as backup to Compliance staff members.

Serve on the Internal Compliance Committee. Communicate with other committee members on a regular basis to stay informed and build a cohesive team. Support the AFMC privacy and security processes / procedures by ensuring risks are being managed appropriately.

Additional duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Intermediate skill level with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). Type 50 wpm.
