Job description

Position Description The Offender Compliance Specialist II is responsible for performing the state-mandated registration and compliance of convicted sex offenders residing in Baldwin County. This position manages the day-to-day activities of the sex offender registration program in accordance with department policies and procedures. Successful applicants must pass a criminal background check and will be subject to a pre-employment drug screen.

Annex II, Robertsdale, Alabama Circuit Clerk's Office when needed District Attorney's Office when needed Courthouses in Baldwin County and surrounding areas when needed WORK CONDITIONS Work is generally performed in an office setting with majority of the time spent in a seated position. Work entails extensive keyboarding. It requires travel between office locations to work, as well as, travel for training or other Sheriff's Office events as required by supervisor.

It may also require overtime to ensure work is completed. Essential Job Functions Instructs Offenders on SORNA Statute Administers the Registration Process including completion of forms, fingerprints, photographs, DNA collection, order notification, and collecting registration fees Sends address verification requests to Offender Compliance Officer Disseminates paperwork to required agencies Conducts address approval process for Alabama Dept. of Corrections, Baldwin County Sheriff's Office Correction Center Inmates, Probation/Parole, and Transfers Assists with investigations of reports/violations Compiles court records/documentation for prosecutions Testifies in court proceedings Maintains Offender Watch database Maintains Sex Offender Registry Book Tracks Baldwin County Sheriff's Office Corrections Center bookings of offenders/document status in docket file Completes monthly NCIC sex offender validations Maintains Registration of US Probationers in Baldwin County NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Supervises the Offender Compliance Specialist I Conducts a training module with all new Corrections Officers Conducts trainings with other law enforcement agencies Attends seminars and meetings in and out of county Answers phones, takes messages and answers questions.

Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork. Open, sort and distribute incoming correspondence, including faxes and e-mail.
