This role will support the executive team in acquiring opportunities for new business.This role will be our agent in the field courting new customers:Essential Functions/Job Duties Prospect food manufacturing clients through calls and visits within a geographical territory. Sales territories typically encompass a 5-8 hour driving radius or a collection of US States. We currently focus on territories within the Eastern US and Central Great Plains. There may be travel outside a primary territory when attractive opportunities arise or a strong relationship exists Develop new business; identify prospective customers by utilizing market intelligence databases, as well as business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences Develop estimates for labor and chemicals for sanitation programs at new facilities Cultivate vendor relationships and channel sales partners including chemical companies Track activities and send weekly sales pipeline updates Provide input and feedback on marketing materials and promotional products Remain at new plants during a transition period to ensure appropriate staffing, continuity, and standards for safety, documentation, and quality. Help recruit and provide coaching and training for site managers, leads, and supervisors, as neededQualifications5+ years of experience with delivering sanitation programs at food manufacturers, preferably as an outside contractor. 10+ years of overall experience working in the food manufacturing industry Deep knowledge of the sanitation process, USDA/FDA regulatory matters, documentation, and certification schemes (SQF, BRC, FSSC 22000) in the meat, poultry, and dairy industries Numerous trusted relationships with decision makers at potential clients e.g. complex managers, plant managers, FSQA managers Experience with and affinity for long sales cycles, travel for face-to-face meetings, cold calling, and new market development Self-motivated, accountable and prepared to work independently with minimal supervision HS Diploma or equivalent Motor vehicle record in good standing Proficient computer skills; Microsoft Office products Committed to continuous education through workshops, seminars, and conferences
