General Purpose

Provides superior account and community management to PacifiCorp's key community, commercial, and industrial customers. Serves as the primary point of contact for assigned communities and accounts, acting as the local executive presence to advance business development opportunities, support political and regulatory strategies, and enhance the company's reputation. This role functions as the principal relationship manager with executive-level counterparts, supporting initiatives that promote strategic growth, strengthen community partnerships, and effectively resolve complex regional issues. May also be assigned to back-office functions to support the RBM team.   

Responsibilities
  • Promote a customer first culture and commit to delivering outstanding results for customers.
  • Manage relationships with City and County elected officials, community-based organizations, business associations, tribal government, other key community contacts and large commercial/industrial account contacts. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with organizations and influential stakeholders to support on-the-ground advocacy, advance state legislative priorities, and drive alignment with company objectives.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to communities, which includes participating in city council, county, business association and rotary meetings, for example.
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction ratings from key contacts with assigned customers. 
  • Manage assigned key accounts by developing and executing account management strategies and corporate account plans, while building and maintaining business relationships across commercial, industrial, development, and government customer segments.
  • Address customer concerns and deliver solutions that enhance PacifiCorp's reputation as a responsive, customer-focused partner, fostering long-term support and strategic partnerships.
  • Utilize project management, teamwork and leadership skills to communicate in a manner that will effectively leverage corporate resources and competencies.
  • Identify and manage the customer and PacifiCorp relationship development with a wide range of decision-makers in the customer organizations, i.e., account management, legal, production, engineering, finance, and other function areas as identified.
  • Drive continued load growth and economic development at a regional level.
  • Support regional engagement in regulatory and governmental affairs activities to support and sustain business development opportunities.
  • Manage direct engagement with key regional stakeholders regarding seasonal operational practices; coordinate closely with emergency management and operations teams to support planning and response during operational (wildfire, outage) events.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across business units to resolve complex customer issues, fostering accountability, alignment, and decisive action to deliver timely, high-impact results.
  • Establish and maintain governmental and community relationships to facilitate the permitting process and resolution of business unit issues affecting communities (i.e. pole relocations, rights of way, conservation easements, tree trimming, etc.) 
  • Support the participation in selected civic and economic development organizations to stay abreast of community issues and provide information to the public about company policies/programs.
  • Negotiate franchise ordinances.
  • Manage company's philanthropic, sponsorship and membership activities for assigned communities,
  • Function as local media and public relations contact as needed.
  • Manage the company's involvement in community events that support company objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Communications, or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of three to five years of experience in account or community management or utility customer service or other related experience.
  • Management skills including the ability to establish objectives, execute policy, monitor resources, and manage the development or implementation of a system, program or process.
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive customer outcomes.
  • Leadership and teamwork skills to provide input into policy decisions and to mobilize resources to produce desired business results.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to manage and motivate employees, and oral and written communication to communicate objectives and action plans.
  • Working knowledge of electric system operations, electric principals, regulation, tariffs and billings, and political environment on state and community levels.
  • Demonstrated project management, team work and leadership skills to produce desired business results. 
  • Demonstrated strong negotiation and persuasion skills
  •  Demonstrated superior customer service skills and follow-up including a sense of urgency while handling customer and community matters.  
  • Ability to communicate company's strategic plan, objectives for specific area, as well as company policies, procedures, and practices and federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations.
  • Experience with community relations and processes
  • Ability to work with all organizational levels to influence actions and negotiate outcomes. 
  • Strong computer skills including the use of MS Word, Excel and Power Point. 
  • Ability to understand technical systems, programs and processes.
