These transitions bring together the strengths, expertise, and shared commitment to making clean energy simpler and more accessible for everyone.
Benefits:
  • Employee RSU Awards program

  • Competitive coverage for Health, Dental, and Vision insurance

  • 10 paid holidays
  • Fully stocked break room with snacks, drinks, breakfast, and company provided lunch once a week!
  • Ping pong and Corn hole in office
  • Canyon Park Perks: Access to a gym, pickleball & basketball courts, outside patio areas, food trucks, and more!

Position Summary:
The AHJ and Utility Requirements Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring SunPower's residential solar installations meet the ever-changing requirements set by Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) and utility companies. This position is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of SunPower's AHJ database, proactively identifying and resolving defect trends caused by jurisdiction or utility requirements, and serving as a key resource for field crews, schedulers, and QC teams when requirements change. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working cross-functionally to close the loop between real-world defects and the data that drives SunPower's permitting and installation processes. This is an entry-level opportunity well suited to someone who enjoys research, data accuracy, and process improvement, and who wants to build a foundation in the solar industry's regulatory and utility landscape.
Essential Duties:
  • Track and triage AHJ and utility caused defect tickets across all owners on a recurring cadence, not just when a defect surfaces on its own.
  • Own the AHJ database directly: resolve contradictions between structured fields and free text notes, fill blank fields as they are found, and keep records current as jurisdictions change their requirements.
  • Train and brief field crews, schedulers, and QC teams when a requirement changes or when a recurring misunderstanding is identified, so the same defect does not repeat across multiple crews.
  • Close the loop between defect tickets and the database, so an audit like this one happens on a regular schedule instead of only when leadership asks for one.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and basic residential electrical/solar requirements.
  • Ability to research and interpret AHJ, utility, permitting, and inspection requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies or conflicting information.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work with databases and accurately maintain detailed records.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical requirements clearly to field crews, QC, scheduling, design, and other internal teams.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
  • 3+ year of experience in solar, construction, electrical, permitting, inspections, quality control, or a related field preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Regular periods of sitting or standing may be required by this position. In addition, this position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
