A Day in the Life
Interventional Cardiology Therapies (ICT) brings together Medtronic's Structural Heart, Coronary, and Renal Denervation businesses to support interventional cardiologists and heart teams with a connected, patient-focused approach. We offer a comprehensive, integrated portfolio of products aligned around the needs of the interventional cardiology service line, including innovative solutions that support the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease, the restoration of structural heart functions, and the management of hypertension.

This position will be based in Mounds View, MN.
As part of the ICT business, Coronary therapy team is seeking a driven Principal Market and Competitive Intelligence Analyst. In this high impact role, the Analyst will provide financial forecasting, strategic planning, and investor-facing deliverables-core processes that require continuity and precision to support business performance. The Analyst functions as a central integrator across strategy, finance, and therapy teams, ensuring alignment on key assumptions, timely delivery of insights, and informed decision-making at the leadership level.
Role and Responsibilities
  • Apply financial modeling and top-down forecasting expertise to deliver insights, scenario analyses, and decision support, leveraging tools such as Excel (CONTROL, Enrich, market models), Power BI, GSR, and Anaplan.

  • Support/lead preparation of key strategic deliverables including but not limited to: Strategic Plan, rolling forecasts (AOP, 7Q, 10Q),

  • Prepare Investor Relations materials using inputs from multiple data sources, in close collaboration with cross-functional partners (Coronary General Manager, Therapy Teams, ICT Finance Team, ICT Strategy Team). Ensure accuracy and alignment with financial and operational targets.

  • Support strategy/innovation opportunity assessments and prioritization process by analyzing competitor dynamics, assessing industry trends, and leveraging internal and external research and data to inform growth strategy and investment decisions.

  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional and regional relationships, enabling alignment and timely delivery of key inputs.

  • Translate complex data and analyses into clear, compelling narratives that align with and advance Coronary objectives.

  • Develop and synthesize market, competitive, and portfolio analyses to inform strategic choices and long-range planning.

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to Strategy/Innovation team members and cross-functionally.

Must Haves, Minimum Requirements;

  • Bachlelors Degree

  • Minimum 7 years financial modeling and top-down forecasting experience. Or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years financial modeling and top-down forecasting experience.

Nice To Have
  • Medical Device industry experience.

  • Demonstrated market, competitive, and portfolio analysis

  • Strong project management skills, accountability to meeting timelines

  • Proficiency with analytics systems such as PowerBI and Tableau

  • Data automation experience

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$123,200.00 - $184,800.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
