Job description

At The Vitamin Shoppe, our Health Enthusiasts are at the heart of everything we do. As a Compensation Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting both the design and execution of compensation programs, while ensuring data integrity, compliance, and operational excellence across Retail, Corporate, and Distribution Center populations.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong analytical capability with business acumen, and who can balance strategic insight with strong execution and process discipline.


Compensation Program Administration

  • Administer the annual merit planning process, including data preparation, reporting, payout validation, and support for program design and continuous improvement
  • Administer the monthly store bonus process, ensuring accurate and timely payouts
  • Maintain wage plans and structures across Retail, Corporate, and Distribution Center populations by region and job grade
  • Support implementation and ongoing enhancement of compensation programs aligned to total rewards strategy

Market Data, Analysis & Reporting

  • Conduct market pricing, competitive pay analysis, and financial modeling to support compensation decisions
  • Conduct compensation studies and benchmarking analyses to identify trends and competitive risks
  • Complete annual salary survey submissions and ensure accurate job matching
  • Prepare standard and ad hoc reporting and analytics to support HR and business decision making
  • Proactively monitor compensation trends and identify risks and opportunities

Job Evaluation & Compliance

  • Administer and support job description and job evaluation processes
  • Maintain job documentation and ensure alignment with compensation frameworks
  • Partner with HR and Legal to support FLSA compliance, audits, and policy reviews
  • Ensure compensation programs and pay practices remain compliant with regulatory requirements

Process, Systems & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain compensation data integrity within HRIS systems (ADP EV5 or equivalent)
  • Support data audits, validation efforts, and compensation cycle execution
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation across compensation programs
  • Maintain documentation of compensation policies, procedures, and workflows
  • Partner cross functionally with HR, Talent Acquisition, Legal, Finance, and Field Leadership on compensation initiatives

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree (CCP certification preferred or interest in pursuing)
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in compensation, HR analytics, payroll, or related analytical function
  • Experience supporting merit, incentive, or compensation cycle administration
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends and recommend solutions
  • Advanced Excel skills including modeling, pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis
  • Experience with ADP EV5 or comparable HRIS/payroll systems
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines

Preferred

  • Experience in retail, multi-unit, or hourly workforce environments
  • Experience conducting salary surveys and interpreting market data
  • Exposure to compensation program design or total rewards strategy
