Pay Range: $18.00 to $22.00 (+ a $5 additional hourly rate on football gamedays!)

Job Summary
Summary: Join our team as a Premium Cook and contribute to providing high-quality meals for our guests in premium spaces at UW-Madison sporting events. As part of this dynamic team, you’ll ensure that each dish meets the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation, all while following federal, state, and corporate food safety guidelines.  
 
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Food Preparation: Prepare high-quality food items following standardized recipes and instructions, meeting production and service schedules. 
  • Portioning & Presentation: Serve or prepare meals for delivery, ensuring the correct portion sizes, optimal temperatures, and appealing presentation. 
  • Kitchen Cleanliness: Clean kitchen areas after food preparation and service, maintaining high cleanliness standards and adhering to safe food-handling procedures. 
  • Food Storage & Organization: Keep refrigerators and storerooms organized and ensure that all food and supplies are stored according to safety standards. 
  • Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain kitchen equipment according to established procedures. Report any issues with equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately. 
  • Safety & Compliance: Attend in-service and safety meetings to stay up-to-date with food safety regulations and best practices. 
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with coworkers, managers, and administrators to maintain smooth kitchen operations and deliver quality food service. 
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the success of food service during events. 
 
Qualifications
  • Culinary Experience: Previous culinary experience is required, with a solid understanding of food preparation, presentation, and kitchen operations. 
  • Certifications: Must have or be willing to complete ServSafe Food Handler Certification and Alcohol Safety Certification. 
  • Positive Attitude: A friendly, team-oriented approach to working in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift 20-40 lbs and remain on your feet for long hours during events. 
  • Availability: Must be able to work all UW-Madison Football games and a majority of events at the Kohl Center Arena.
