Purpose of the role

As a Moment Maker Volunteer, you will provide companionship, connection and emotional support to older people through meaningful conversations, shared stories and quality time together. By being present, listening and engaging in simple, yet heartfelt interactions, you will help enrich daily life, foster a sense of belonging and reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation for older people.

Key responsibilities

  • Create meaningful connections with older people through relaxed conversations, shared stories and genuine presence
  • Offer companionship by spending one-on-one time with older people who may feel isolated or would simply enjoy company
  • Share simple, enjoyable moments together and encourage social interactions by making older people feel comfortable, included and valued
