Mental Health School Based Therapist($2000.00 sign on Bonus PAID AFTER 90 DAYS)

Gaston Adolescent Center, Inc., is looking for talented individuals who share our dedication to the people we serve and support by “Making Today’s Dreams Tomorrows Reality”. We are currently recruiting for the following positions Mental Health School Based Therapist (SBT)

School based therapist – Therapist will work in 1-4 schools each week providing individual and group therapy for elementary, middle and/ or high school students. Employee will be eligible for medical insurance and paid time off after successfully completing a 90 day probationary period.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Masters of Social Work (MSW) (or closely related degree/LPCA/LMFT).

Must have a North Carolina license. LCSWA/LPCA/LMFTA or be fully licensed.

One year experience in behavioral health or the educational field. Internship and practicum time included.

Knowledge and experience in providing individual and family therapy utilizing evidence based treatment models preferred

Must be Medicaid/MCO billable, or have ability to become eligible.

Demonstrates ability to work as an effective member of a multi-disciplined team.

Must have a current driver’s license and insurance. Demonstrate proven sensitivity to the various cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of consumers and their families

Position Summary: The Therapist has the primary responsibility to develop, direct and monitor treatment for all clients, and their families assigned to their caseload.

Essential Job Duties

Facilitate therapeutic and psycho-educational groups.

Engage families in services, and provide parent education information and inclusion in attainment of the client’s treatment goals.

Conduct and complete comprehensive assessments that meet medical necessity and diagnostic requirements for treatment.

Develop individual treatment plans with goals based upon the findings in the comprehensive assessments.

Complete documentation in a timely manner with progress notes and monthly updates recording the progress on goals.

Provide individual/family therapy based on current needs and treatment plans of each client

Maintains current records on each child in accordance with agency policies and state regulations.

Communicate and collaborate with families, referral agents, and other interested parties, (i.e., judges, schools, DCBS, DJJ, and other referral agents) regarding children’s treatment.
