Job description

Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for leading the warehouse team to safely and accurately process the shipping and receiving of inventory items at the Byron Center, Michigan warehouse location. The hours of operation are 7:00 am 3:30 pm, with overtime being available due to customer demand.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Organize the warehouse team to safely and accurately process incoming and outgoing shipments of inventory daily.
  • Check all incoming and outgoing inventory shipments for accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse and yard space so that orders and deliveries are processed safely and efficiently.
  • Submit inventory transactions to the Accounting Department for the processing of incoming and outgoing orders.
  • Verify shipping and receiving logs are updated accurately by the warehouse team.
  • Lead a daily review meeting with Warehouse Team, Logistics Manager, and Operations Manager for the prior day shipping and receiving transactions. Game plan for the new days incoming and outgoing inventory transactions.
  • Lead the month-end inventory count to ensure that all inventory items on hand match the accounting inventory system.
  • Develop ideas to streamline warehouse operations for continual improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with Kent Companies safety policies and procedures.

Required Experience, Education, and Qualifications

  • Equipment operator experience with Forklift and Skytrack. This position will train and certify employees without this experience.
  • Supervisory experience leading a team of 3-6 years is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Warehouse or distribution experience
  • The ability to lift 50 pounds to your waist individually or 80 pounds to your waist utilizing a team lift approach.
  • Time management skills, balancing multiple shipments and deliveries so that the warehouse operates efficiently.
  • Clear written and oral communication is required.
  • Customer service is the centerpiece of this business. This position requires satisfying our customers demands for on-time delivery and regular communication.
  • Computer experience, including email and Microsoft Office
  • A team-first attitude is required
  • Valid drivers license
  • Must have reliable transportation to the workplace(s) and customer location(s).
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check related to driving.
  • Ability to pass drug screening.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.

Preferred Experience, Education, and Qualifications
2+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Warehousing, or Logistics.
Associates or Bachelors degree in related field

Work Environment/Physical Demand
This position splits time between an office and a warehouse environment with other team members. A team-first attitude is a must.

  • This position requires minimal travel.
  • Typical hours will range from 40-45 hours per week and are subject to change. Office hours will be 7:00 a.m. 3:30 p.m.
