Warehouse Optimization Leader

We supply top-quality beef to Retail, Foodservice, and National Account customers across the U.S. and are committed to quality, customer service, and innovation in protein manufacturing.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Warehouse Optimization Leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of our food warehouse. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing two shifts that will be responsible for inventory, ensuring that the warehouse is operating efficiently, and supervising a team of warehouse staff. Following all Safety Requirements and Companyโ€™s Core Values while ensuring customersโ€™ expectations are met with accurate and on time shipments of both fresh and frozen finished goods. Keys to success in this role will be to lead to establish and executing processes and procedures that will lead to loading accuracy, reduced load times, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of the warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and distributing food products.
  • Analyze the layout of Shipping, Receiving and coolers to improve material and process flow.
  • Collaborating closely with Supply Chain Director, Operation Leadership and Customer Service Manager to meet customer needs in filling orders accurately and on time.
  • Develop and implement inventory management procedures to ensure accurate inventory counts and minimize shrinkage.
  • Monitor aging inventory and work cross-functionally to develop/implement plans to reduce risks of inventory aging out.
  • Monitor fresh-inventory accuracy and drive activities to ensure everything is scanned to an order or adjusted systematically if needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining and not exceeding monthly and annual budget in Labor and Expenses.
  • Ensure that all warehouse equipment is properly maintained and in good working order.
  • Monitor warehouse operations to ensure that safety and health regulations are being followed, and work to identify and correct any safety hazards.
  • Ensure all areas of responsibility are clean and kept tidy and organized.
  • Develop and implement staff training programs to improve the productivity and efficiency of the warehouse team.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement procedures for quality control and ensure that all food products are handled and stored in compliance with industry standards.
  • Monitor warehouse expenses and develop cost-saving initiatives where possible.
  • Manage a team of warehouse staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure that team is adhering to all company core values.
  • Ensure that all warehouse personnel are adhered to OSHA requirements when it comes to the use of power industrial equipment.
  • Work with Customer Service and Transportation Team for smooth outbound shipment processes that include both S&S Managed Carriers and CPUโ€™s
  • Ability to problem solve inventory discrepancies on fresh product that was not properly scanned inside companies Warehouse Management system.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, logistics, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in warehouse management, preferably in a food warehouse environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of managing labor and expenses.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to work either shift as needed.
  • Strong attention to details and display the ability to ensure his team has the same attention.
  • Displayed and can speak to past ability to lead teams to meet KPIs.
  • Physically capable of performing warehouse, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, bending, climbing, and operating forklift and jack equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of safety and health regulations related to warehousing and food handling.
  • Proficient in inventory management software and other warehouse management systems.

Working Conditions:

The Warehouse Leader will work in a fast-paced, refrigerated environment with varying temperatures. The leader may be required to work outside of normal business hours and may be on call in case of emergency situations. The leader may also be required to lift heavy objects and operate warehouse equipment.
