Position Summary:ย 

St. Paulโ€™s Senior Services is a missiondriven nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of seniors through housing, healthcare, and supportive services. Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Grant Writer is responsible for generating institutional funding by researching, writing, and managing grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and other funding entities.

The Grant Writer uses strong writing skills, data analysis, and emerging technologiesโ€”including artificial intelligence (AI) toolsโ€”to increase efficiency, strengthen narratives, and support accurate, timely grant submissions and reporting. This role also supports grant stewardship, compliance, and crossdepartmental collaboration to advance programs serving the senior community.

Major Responsibilities:ย 
  • Generate revenue for capital projects, programs, and initiatives supporting seniors by managing the full lifecycle of grant development, including research, proposal writing, submission, and postaward management
  • Identify and cultivate new funding opportunities aligned with St. Paulโ€™s mission, institutional priorities, and senior services programming
  • Utilize AIenabled research, drafting, and editing tools to support grant prospect research, proposal development, and reporting while ensuring accuracy, originality, and funder compliance
  • Collaborate with department leaders to gather programmatic information, outcomes, and impact data for grant proposals and reports
  • Work closely with the Finance Department to prepare required financial documentation and grant reports
  • Ensure full compliance with all funder guidelines, reporting deadlines, and stewardship requirements
  • Provide ongoing stewardship to grantors through written updates, impact reports, and acknowledgments
  • Maintain accurate grant tracking records, calendars, and documentation
  • Develop a working knowledge of St. Paulโ€™s history, programs, and service model for older adults
  • Coordinate meetings, site visits, and cultivation activities between the Chief Executive Officer and foundation or corporate funders
  • Assist with additional fundraising and development projects as needed
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:ย 
  • Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, compelling, and persuasive grant proposals
  • Demonstrated success securing grant funding in a nonprofit environment
  • Proficiency using AIassisted tools for research, writing, editing, and workflow support, with the ability to apply sound judgment and maintain content accuracy and integrity
  • Ability to translate complex social and seniorcare issues into accessible and compelling narratives
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with leadership, staff, and external partners
  • Working knowledge of ethical fundraising practices and institutional fundraising strategies
  • Comfortable representing St. Paulโ€™s at meetings, events, and community functions
  • Ability to travel locally to offsite meetings or engagements
Qualifications:ย 
  • Proven record of meeting or exceeding fundraising goals
  • Experience using digital tools, grant databases, and AIsupported writing or research platforms preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and followthrough
  • Commitment to the mission of serving older adults
Education and Experience:ย 
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree from an accredited college or university required
  • Minimum of four (4) years of grant writing experience in a nonprofit setting, or equivalent demonstrated writing and fundraising ability
