TITLE: Senior Commercial Banker

DEPARTMENT: 910 – Commercial Lending


JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Commercial Banker is responsible for overseeing commercial banking relationships while actively seeking new business opportunities. This role will formulate, execute business strategies, manage client relationships, and may mentor and manage a team of commercial bankers.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • May lead, mentor, and develop a team of professionals fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Expand existing client relationships and actively acquire new business relationships.
  • Implement effective business development and achieve budgeted goals for loan and deposit growth.
  • Facilitate communication with clients and relevant stakeholders for an effective closing process.
  • Analyze credit requests and review and verify financial statements to ensure compliance with bank policies in conjunction with credit team.
  • Manage loan closing process and ensure all required documentation, approvals and collateral are verified.
  • Monitor loan relationships for annual reviews and compliance.
  • Cross sell bank services in a professional manner and enhance client relationships.
  • Identify and manage elevated risk loans through established monitoring.
  • Participate in the bank’s Loan Committee discussions.
  • Maintain knowledge of company policies and procedures as well as internal audit procedures, legal regulations, and requirements.
  • May evaluate performance, administer touch points and deliver performance evaluations.
  • Establish clear expectations and hold team members accountable to performance and behaviors aligned with our culture.
  • Understand and administer compensation based on pay for performance philosophy, including merit increases and variable pay.
  • Comply with all company or regulatory policies, procedures and requirements that are applicable to this position.
  • Participate in community engagement events. This can include professional, civic and community groups.
  • Foster and preserve a culture of inclusion.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be required to support the company’s mission, vision and values.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting or related field.
  • Minimum six years of experience in commercial banking.
  • Strong analytical and business judgment skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Capability to manage sensitive information and uphold confidentiality.
  • Accountability when working with clients, other team members and stakeholders of the company.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Duties are performed in a professional office environment.
  • Requires travel to other bank or client locations.
  • Evening and weekend work as needed for events.
