POSITION SPECIFICS

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking applicants for a Community Engagement and Prevention Specialist.

The Community Engagement and Prevention Specialist will serve as a university leader for prevention efforts related to hazing, substance use, and other risk reduction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The position will develop and implement evidence-informed prevention initiatives related to hazing, substance use, and risk reduction for a wide range of student populations, including, but not limited to, registered student organizations, recreation clubs and intramural sports, fraternities and sororities, athletes, the Blue Band, as well as employees and volunteers who have direct ongoing interaction with students.

  • The position will work within prevention models such as the Strategic Prevention Framework from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration or the Hazing Prevention Framework from StopHazing.org.

  • The position is responsible for collaborating with a variety of staff and offices to ensure prevention efforts related to hazing, substance use, and other risk reduction concerns are met.

  • The role will follow professional standards consistent with evidence-based practice set by relevant professional organizations.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Master's Degree 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $54,060.00 - $78,444.00.
