Job description

Purpose: Responsible for coordinating and implementing all aspects of targeted revitalization strategies.


Essential Functions:

  • Work as part of a team to implement department strategies and tactics through community, city and regional efforts including initiatives to improve the quality of life, physical appearance, economic vitality, and social unity in target neighborhoods.
  • Work within the local community to implement each annual plan and timetable which includes public/private sector responsibilities and developing and maintaining volunteer opportunities.
  • Document and record ongoing revitalization efforts and develo9p reports on progress and outcomes.
  • Recommend, initiate, plan, and execute research projects.
  • Attend, facilitate, present, and coordinate logistics, materials, and displays for public or community meetings or events.
  • Collaborate with community residents, nonprofit organizations, government officials, elected representatives, business leaders and faith communities to accomplish community objectives.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Two years of experience in Community Develo9pment/Planning or closely related field preferred.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, including crisis/conflict management skills and ability to articulate well with both community members and stakeholders.
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking and represent the agency in a professional manner.
  • Be comfortable in visiting community members in diverse settings.
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekend or evening hours.
  • Valid PA Driver's License with Insurance.
  • Reliable transportation available daily.
  • Ability to travel within 3-county service region on occasion. Approximately 25% per month.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
  • State Police, Child Abuse, FBI and MVR clearances.
