Community Relations Director
Summary of Position
The Community Relations Director plays an integral role in the success of our team, our community and creating a place our residents are proud to call home. The primary purpose of this position is to develop, maintain and improve community outreach efforts for the express purpose of driving move-ins to achieve and maintain established occupancy standards.
Essential Job Functions
  • Develops, maintains, and improves community outreach efforts. Identify new and potential referral sources and strategies to educate. Target markets will include but are not limited to hospitals and acute care providers, senior housing providers, assisted living and Alzheimer's providers, skilled nursing providers, area support organizations, real estate professionals, clergy, social service organizations, trust officers, civic and professional organizations, and internal resident population.
  • Works with Executive Director, Sales & Marketing Director, Regional Director of Sales & Marketing and Regional Marketing Director to develop annual and quarterly networking plans to meet established goals for calls, visits, and referrals.
  • Develops and works within approved budget.
  • Develops and maintains a dynamic database of community at-large contacts and tracks meeting and outcomes.
  • Participates in the planning and implementation of influencer events designed to drive referrals, enhance community awareness and recognition within the surrounding metro area.
  • Represents community at professional events to ensure the community is well informed of our community's capabilities and product offerings.
  • Works with the Sales & Marketing Director, Executive Director, and management team to establish effective public relations programs as needed.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with management team and employees that promotes high levels of achievement, trust, morale and professionalism.
  • Prepares required reporting to Sales & Marketing Director and Corporate offices, including Quarterly Marketing weekly sales reports.
  • Reviews and strategize with Sales & Marketing Director and Executive Director on weekly basis to assure maximum networking and effective follow-up with target contacts.
  • Participates in daily manager's meeting when needed.
  • Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures necessary to participate as a member of the management team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Critical Skills
  • Be able to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
  • Deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public.
  • Capable of working with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility.
  • Communicate effectively in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, team members, prospects, residents, and families.

Education and Experience
  • Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position.
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred) or related work experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in senior housing or health care.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and operable vehicle.
  • Knowledgeable of laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to senior housing and assisted living.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel, Outlook) preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position may have direct reports or supervisory requirements.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
Tasks assigned to this position may involve potential and/or direct exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, air contaminants, and hazardous chemicals.
Physical Requirements - The Physical activities of this position involve:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to push, pull, move and or lift a minimum of 25 pounds
  • Alternating between standing and sitting

Cognitive Requirements - The Cognitive activities with or without prosthetics of this position are:
  • Executes tasks independently
  • Ability to express yourself clearly and effectively
  • General computer literacy

Environmental Requirements - An individual in this position may be exposed to:
  • Ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment
  • May be exposed to variable temperatures and conditions while off-site.

  • Off-site travel may be required
