Job description

Join Our Team as a PRN Nurse Liaison

Help patients access the specialized rehabilitation care they need.

Methodist Rehabilitation Center is seeking a compassionate and experienced PRN Nurse Liaison to serve as a vital connection between patients, referral sources, physicians, and our rehabilitation team. In this role, you will evaluate patients for admission, educate healthcare professionals about our services, and facilitate a smooth transition into rehabilitation care.

What You'll Do
  • Conduct pre-admission screenings to determine patient appropriateness for inpatient rehabilitation services.
  • Collaborate with physicians, case managers, social workers, discharge planners, and referral sources to coordinate patient admissions.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Methodist Rehabilitation Center, referring providers, hospitals, and the community.
  • Educate physicians, case managers, social workers, discharge planners, insurance representatives, and other healthcare professionals about Methodist Rehabilitation Center's rehabilitation programs and services.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate patient information in a timely and professional manner.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with referral sources to support exceptional patient care.
  • Travel to hospitals and healthcare facilities throughout the service area as needed.
Schedule

    Required
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
    • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Mississippi.
    • Experience conducting pre-admission or clinical patient assessments.
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Strong organizational, critical thinking, and time-management abilities.
    • Proficiency with computers and electronic medical record systems.
    • Valid Mississippi driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance.
    Preferred
    • Experience in rehabilitation nursing or inpatient rehabilitation.
    • Experience working with case managers, discharge planners, and referral sources.
    • Knowledge of rehabilitation admission criteria and insurance authorization processes.
    • Marketing or healthcare liaison experience.
