Job description

Position Summary:
The Public & Community Relations Manager (PCRM) develops effective and consistent internal andexternal communication strategies. Champions earned media campaigns targeting regional and nationaloutlets. Collaborates with Human Resources leadership to create compelling internal communications thatalign team members with company direction. Works with all forms of media, including press releases,media alerts, digital campaigns, print materials, social media, audio/video, and more. Serves as brandambassador and host for media, celebrities, and influencers, managing all on-property VIP experiencesand activations.
Essential Functions:
1. Responsible for redefining hospitality at Graton Resort & Casino while living, supporting, and promotingour values.
2. Perform responsibilities in accordance with all Graton Resort & Casino standards, policies, andprocedures.
3. Oversee the day-to-day communications and create a cohesive communications strategy.
4. Work closely with the Director of Marketing and VP of Marketing on the overall public branding, with thegoal of projecting a positive company image to the public.
5. Develop an overall, annual communications plan including but not limited to branding, messaging,community involvement, etc. that keeps Graton top of mind across multiple markets.
6. Cultivate and enhance collaborative working relationships within the national and local media andpublicity community.
7. Gather and disseminate timely information to media, agency partners and internal team members.
8. Serve as the primary PR point of contact and official media spokesperson, actively addressing mediainquiries, public statements, and reputation management.
9. Oversee press release schedule, proofing, and writing assignments for GRC press releases,publications and ensuring quality control of all information released.
10. Support/collaborate/create editorial content for social media channels -- such as Instagram, Facebook,YouTube and X.
11. Create proactive crisis management plans around local issues.
12. Communicate crisis plans to internal and external audiences when applicable, cultivating anenvironment of readiness and alertness.
13. Support the VP of Marketing and General Manager in establishing memberships in the state, county,and area organizations such as tourism boards, chambers of commerce, business alliances, and areasports groups; cultivate relationships with peers throughout the local and greater Bay Area markets.
14. Manage/coordinate/publicize community-focused initiatives, including, but not limited to festivals,sponsorships, donations, etc.
15. Help develop, maintain, and reconcile the annual communications budget.
16. Continuously assess, recommend and initiate ongoing communication strategies to successfullyengage Team Members across the property across topics including, but not limited to,
building/reinforcing culture, training & education initiatives, benefits & wellness, departmentalannouncements, and business and leader updates.
17. Create marketing collateral and manage internal communication campaigns for event marketing,volunteerism, benefit program rollouts, and property updates.
18. Manage and create engaging content on professional social media platforms (LinkedIn, Indeed,Glassdoor, etc.) for engagement and recruitment initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
1. Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written andverbal form.
2. Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or related field preferred.
3. Minimum three (3) years' experience in the PR/Communications field.
4. Minimum two (2) years in a leadership role.
5. Experience in stakeholder/community engagement.
6. An extensive list of media contacts.
7. An expansive understanding of multi-channel media relations and communications strategies.
8. Can present a strong portfolio of successful coverage and campaigns across local, national, and onlinemedia outlets.
9. A leader with the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues throughout the company.
10. Self-motivator, confident, energetic, and creative.
11. Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize appropriately.
12. Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
13. Well-versed in social media and communications technologies.
Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time while using a computer.
