Job description

Driver/Assistant Cook
Southeast Senior Services in Wrangell is seeking a caring individual to provide transportation to our community seniors and individuals with disabilities, as well as deliver meals to home-bound seniors. This position will also help in the senior center kitchen, preparing, packaging, and serving meals. Position requires safe and legal driving of CCS vehicles, providing door-to-door escorts to clients, assisting passengers using wheelchairs, and supporting clients that may have cognitive impairments. Kitchen duties include assisting with preparing and serving tasty, nutritious meals according to program guidelines, ordering and proper storage of food and supplies, and maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen according to DEC guidelines.
Qualifications
Applicants must be at least 21 years old and have an Alaska driver’s license and a good driving record for the past 18 months and no DUI or reckless driving for the past three years. Experience with senior citizens and/or persons with disabilities are preferred. Experience with routine vehicle maintenance is desirable. Food and beverage experience preferred. Must get Alaska Food Workers card within 10 days of hire. Background check required.
This position is Part Time, 24 hours/week, 8am-2pm Tuesday through Friday. Starting wage is $17/hour.
