About the Position: This is a time limited position. Supervisory position in which employee will be for the following: Educate families on the importance of child safety seats and their proper usage. Organize workshops or informational sessions aimed at teaching parents how to select, install, and utilize child safety seats correctly, thereby enhancing overall community awareness about child passenger safety. Conduct thorough assessments to identify the specific needs of low-income families within the community. Ensures that the program effectively addresses any barriers these families face in accessing safe transportation options for their children. Oversees the logistics of distributing child safety seats is crucial. This includes managing inventory and coordinating distributions. Establish/re-establish external collaborations with community agencies, schools, and childcare programs statewide. Implement a robust system for tracking program outcomes through data collection related to distribution efforts, participant feedback, and observed changes in child safety practices among families served. Assist with general grant compliance and documentation to ensure deliverables were met.
What you'll need to be Successful: Knowledge of child passenger safety, along with having child passenger safety technician certification.; or willing to take the 4 - day course/pass within 90 days of being hired. Understand the guidelines and best practices regarding child passenger safety, so long as the law is followed. Be familiar with state laws regarding child passenger safety. Be familiar with State and Federal grant guidelines within a grant. Have excellent communication and customer service skills and organizational skills. Experience in programs working with caregivers, parents and children.
