Rate of Pay:
This is a Part-Time Support Staff position at grade 11, with an hourly pay rate of $17.37 to $23.16. The offer will be based on education and experience, in alignment with the College's compensation philosophy and the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), if applicable.

Job Summary:
An employee in this classification will serve as the Program Assistant for the Truck Driving Program, providing essential administrative and operational support to ensure the program runs smoothly. This role includes coordination of program activities; ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines; assisting students and instructors and maintaining accurate records. General supervision is received by the assigned manager
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
o High school diploma, or equivalent. Two years of experience in an administrative or support role.
o Working knowledge of Illinois Secretary of State requirements and regulations for CDL Class A licensure.
o Strong organizational and multitasking skills
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software
o Ability to proofread and edit work and maintain accurate documentation and updated reference material in compliance with regulatory guidelines and requirements
o Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of the trucking industry and commercial driving regulations is a plus.
Associate Degree preferred
Essential Duties:
1. Assist in Daily Operations: Schedule classes, coordinate with instructors, and manage student enrollment.
2. Primary Point of Contact: Provide information and support to students regarding CDL program requirements, schedules, and resources.
3. Maintain Accurate Records: Track student interest, progress, attendance, and program completion.
4. Compliance: Work with the program director to adhere to annual changes in federal and state licensing laws.
5. Validate Test Results: Assist the program director in validating physical and drug test results for students, and enter student information into the federal database and the Secretary of State CDL license testing system.
6. Cultivate Relations: Maintain good relations with the Illinois Secretary of State office.
7. Collaborate on Enrollment: Work with the college's workforce development division and the program director to manage WIOA student
enrollment.
8. Informational Sessions: Partner with the program director to assist in informational sessions for prospective students
