Job description

At WHOOP, we're on a mission to unlock human performance and healthspan. WHOOP empowers members to perform at a higher level through a deeper understanding of their bodies and daily lives.

WHOOP is hiring a Sr. Specialist, Community Engagement to help build, nurture, and grow meaningful relationships with members, athletes, creators, partners, and the broader performance community. As a key member of the Social Media team, you will lead community engagement efforts across social platforms, translating audience conversations into actionable insights while creating opportunities for deeper connection with the WHOOP brand. This role will partner closely with Creative, Brand, Product Marketing, Sports & Talent, Communications, and Customer Experience teams to drive engagement, advocacy, and communityโ€‘led storytelling that strengthens member affinity and fuels business growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead dayโ€‘toโ€‘day community engagement across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, Reddit, and emerging platforms, fostering authentic relationships with members, athletes, creators, partners, and prospective customers.
  • Develop and execute platformโ€‘specific community engagement strategies that drive audience growth, participation, advocacy, and brand affinity.
  • Partner crossโ€‘functionally to activate community engagement around product launches, partnerships, campaigns, athlete moments, and key cultural events.
  • Monitor community sentiment, social conversations, and emerging trends, surfacing actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders across Marketing, Product, Customer Experience, and other teams.
  • Establish feedback loops that elevate member perspectives, product feedback, and recurring community themes to inform decisionโ€‘making across the organization.
  • Track and analyze engagement, sentiment, and community health metrics, using performance insights to continuously optimize community strategies and initiatives.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on social platform best practices, internet culture, and community trends, identifying opportunities for WHOOP to engage authentically and remain culturally relevant.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in community management, social media, digital marketing, or a related field, preferably supporting a consumerโ€‘facing brand.
  • Proven experience developing and executing community engagement strategies across multiple social platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, and Reddit.
  • Experience managing integrated social campaigns from planning and execution through measurement and optimization.
  • Strong understanding of social listening, community management, and analytics tools, including platforms such as Sprinklr, PLOT, or similar technologies.
  • Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to adapt messaging and brand voice across audiences, platforms, and conversation types.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong crossโ€‘functional partnerships and effectively manage multiple priorities in a fastโ€‘paced environment.
  • Passion for sports, performance, health and wellness, technology, and communityโ€‘driven brands.
  • Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in dayโ€‘toโ€‘day tasks, ensuring AIโ€‘assisted work aligns with the same highโ€‘quality standards as personal contributions.

Interested in the role, but donโ€™t meet every qualification? We encourage you to still apply! At WHOOP, we believe there is much more to a candidate than what is written on paper, and we value character as much as experience. As we continue to build a diverse and inclusive environment, we encourage anyone who is interested in this role to apply.

The WHOOP compensation philosophy is designed to attract, motivate, and retain exceptional talent by offering competitive base salaries, meaningful equity, and consistent pay practices that reflect our mission and core values.

At WHOOP, we view total compensation as the combination of base salary, equity, and benefits, with equity serving as a key differentiator that aligns our employees with the longโ€‘term success of the company and allows every member of our corporate team to own part of WHOOP and share in the companyโ€™s longโ€‘term growth and success.

The U.S. base salary range for this fullโ€‘time position is $80,000 - $110,000. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within each range, individual pay is based on factors such as jobโ€‘related skills, experience, performance, and relevant education or training.

In addition to the base salary, the successful candidate will also receive benefits and a generous equity package.

These ranges may be modified in the future to reflect evolving market conditions and organizational needs. While most offers will typically fall toward the starting point of the range, total compensation will depend on the candidateโ€™s specific qualifications, expertise, and alignment with the roleโ€™s requirements.
