We are Alpha Supported Living Services, a non-profit organization, we provide residential and community-based services to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our primary objective at Alpha is to enhance the quality of life for each of our clients by aiding them in learning, personal development, and fostering increased independence. Since 1974, we've been dedicated to offering supported living, group home, community inclusion, and representative payee services, expanding our reach across King, Snohomish, and Spokane counties in Washington State. Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Community Inclusion Supervisor, the Community Inclusion Coordinator provides individualized support to clients through community-based activities that promote socialization, education, recreation, and personal development. The Coordinator will interact directly with clients, follow applicable Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) guidelines, and uphold Alphaโ€™s mission and values while supporting clients in maximizing their quality of life.

Day-to-Day:

  • Conduct assessments to determine clients' skills, interests, and potential for community involvement through interviews and research
  • Provide personalized support to Community Inclusion clients during their outings into the community
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive six-month progress reports on Community Inclusion Plans
  • Accurately document time spent on behalf of each client, ensuring adherence to the requirements of the Developmental Disability Administration Community Inclusion Billable Activity
  • Manage a caseload of approximately 8-9 clients per week, adjusting schedules according to client availability and monthly allotted hours
  • Drive clients to and from activities, adhering to scheduled appointments and commitments
  • Assist with personal care tasks as needed, such as restroom assistance
  • Utilize behavior management plans to provide positive redirection for clients with mild behavior issues
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all outings and related work activities for billing purposes
  • Update and maintain client care plans every six months, and attend annual assessment meetings to report on client progress
  • Serve as a bridge to help clients connect with their communities and facilitate meaningful interactions
  • Contribute to the mission of maximizing the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities through dedicated service

Who we are looking for:

  • Capable of managing flexible hours autonomously with organization and initiative
  • Experience in human services, customer service, or roles involving extensive interaction with people
  • Understanding of different cultures, backgrounds, and community influences
  • Ability to recognize signs of potential challenges and communicate concerns to the appropriate staff
  • Ability to motivate and support clients based on their individual interests, abilities, and goals
  • Ability to serve as a liaison between clients and the community

Job Requirementsย 

  • At least 18 years of ageย 
  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities or 2 years of experience working in a recognized social service program
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and use new software
  • A valid Washington State Driverโ€™s License and current vehicle insurance; must be eligible for coverage under Alpha Supported Living Servicesโ€™ automobile insurance plan based on driving record
  • Background inquiry clearance from an authorized state agency

Starting Wage:ย ย 

All CIC new hires will start at $28.00/hr regardless of experienceย 

Wage Scale:ย 

$28.00-33.60/hr

Benefits:

Benefits for Part-time and Full-Time Employees (30 hours or more a week) include Medical, Dental, Vision, 403(b) (non-profit version of a 401(k)) with company match, Life Insurance, Tuition Savings Program, and Tuition Reimbursement. Employees working 34 or more hours a week are eligible for PTO accrual.

Employees in this position are members of a bargaining unit represented by SEIU. Wages and benefits are currently under negotiation and may change depending upon the results of the collective bargaining process.ย
