Position Summary
The Parking Supervisor is an event-based position which oversees event day traffic and parking operations across the surface lots at the Tyson Events Center. This position provides frontline leadership and hands-on operational support to ensure safe, efficient, and customer-focused parking services during events and daily operations. The Parking Supervisor oversees parking staff, assists with traffic management, monitors parking equipment and systems, and helps coordinate event parking logistics. This is a part-time role with scheduling based on events. Our regular event season runs from September through May.
This role pays an hourly rate of $18.00.

About the Venue
The Tyson Events Center is a 190,000 square foot multi-purpose facility, located in downtown Sioux City, Iowa. It was built, starting in 2002 and opened on December 17, 2003. The venue features a horseshoe-shaped seating bowl with an end court upper balcony with seats and 28 luxury suites. The Tyson Events Center is proud to be the home to the Sioux City Musketeers hockey team and Sioux City Bandits arena football team.
The Tyson Events Center hosts over 140 different events each year, including concerts, sporting events, family shows, trade shows, competitions, religious services, bull riding competitions, commencement ceremonies, lectures, and political rallies among other corporate and community events. The arena is host to the NAIA Women's Division II Basketball National Championship and NAIA Volleyball Championship.
The Tyson Events Center is owned by the City Of Sioux City and managed by Oak View Group, the expert in hosting and entertainment, partnering with over 300 clients at 400 global properties to create memorable experiences for millions of visitors every year.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee event-day operation of parking facilities and parking/traffic activity.
  • Supervise, direct, and support Parking Attendants.
  • Assist with staff training, scheduling, attendance monitoring, and performance oversight.
  • Monitor parking operations during events to ensure safe and efficient vehicle movement.
  • Implement traffic flow plans and adjust staffing and operations as needed during high-volume events.
  • Provide excellent customer service and promptly resolve parking-related concerns and complaints.
  • Monitor parking equipment, access systems, signage, and facility conditions; report maintenance and operational issues.
  • Assist with oversight of parking credentials, permits, validations, and operational reporting.
  • Ensure proper use of cashless payment systems and assist customers with payment-related issues.
  • Support ADA compliance and maintain a safe environment for guests and employees.
  • Maintain communication with event staff, security personnel, and other departments to support successful event operations.
  • Assist with incident documentation and other administrative duties as assigned.
  • Perform hands-on operational duties as needed to support parking activities.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in parking, transportation, hospitality, event operations, or similar preferred.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Familiarity with, or able to learn parking systems and processing payments via a cashless point of sale device.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and working outside in varying weather conditions.
  • Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift/carry heavy items as needed.
