TITLE: Community Engagement Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Retail Banking



JOB SUMMARY:

The Community Engagement Specialist is responsible for business development and deposit growth for the Retail Department. This role is focused on sales driven by developing and maintaining long term relationships with consumer and business clients. Proactively sources new consumer and small business accounts and initiates calls to strengthen relationships with commercial partners, clients, and other businesses within the community.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Build and manage the Partnership Banking Program and drives new account growth by offering banking products and services to commercial clients and their employees.
  • Schedule regular on-site events, make presentations in the workplace, and provide excellent experiences to all relationships.
  • Host community awareness events, support sales staff and coordinate branch connections with clients.
  • Lead and expand Small Business accounts and relationships.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Bankers to ensure successful events and provide back up support as needed.
  • Serve as the primary Community Outreach for Retail Banking and maintain a comprehensive calendar of events for all bank and community partnership events and opportunities.
  • Deliver new deposit and loan business to consistently achieve sales targets with initiative-taking initiatives and strategies.
  • Participate in business development plans and partner with OLOB to drive new business.
  • Grow and elevate Health Savings Account portfolio with internal and external sales efforts.
  • Collaborate with the commercial team to connect with new business clients through creative, innovative, and experience focused events and activities.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of Retail Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Develop a strong knowledge of bank products and services to meet the client needs.
  • Provide backup to Account Executives to assist with client needs.
  • Comply with all company or regulatory policies, procedures and requirements that are applicable to this position.
  • Invest in community partnerships and participate in events to promote our culture and brand.
  • Foster and preserve a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be required to support the company’s mission, vision, and values.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or an equivalent of education and experience.
  • Three years of Relationship banking experience or five years of financial sales experience including client service, sales, marketing, hospitality, or retail
  • Strong leadership skills required with a desire to develop others. Strong ability to set clear expectations and influence behavior aligned with our culture.
  • Solid understanding of various standard financial reports and information.
  • Capability to interpret, analyze, and communicate financial information effectively to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and exceptions on behalf of the bank.
  • Capability to prioritize and execute a variety of tasks simultaneously, at times in a demanding environment.
  • Capability to utilize various banking software and Microsoft 365 products, with a prominent level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication capabilities.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Duties performed in a professional office environment.
  • Availability to work Saturdays.
