Job description

Position title: Program Specialist I

Location: Arlington, Virginia

Clearance required: SECRET

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • General Program & Administrative Support: Assist department directors and team members with daily operational tasks. Act as a point of contact for basic inquiries, prepare and format program documents, perform accurate data entry, maintain program databases and files, and assist with logistics for program events.
  • Program Documentation & Process Management: Document program workflows, training materials, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Help track key program metrics and milestones as directed.
  • Specialized IT & Telecommunications Support (Code 53): Ensure stakeholder awareness of IT initiatives and network status through strategic communications. Serve as the Telecommunications Service Control Officer, managing service calls and generating usage reports.
  • Specialized FFRDC Process Management (Code 59): Manage the complete Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) Sponsor Feedback Process, including all associated documentation, reporting, and maintenance of the online system.
  • Specialized Help Desk Workflow Management (Code 54): Orchestrate the help/service desk workflow from initial request intake through to final resolution, ensuring timely and effective support.
  • Ability toย think critically, analyze information, identify problems, evaluate potential solutions, and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Excellent ability to manage and organize multiple complex tasksย simultaneously, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Excellentย verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strongย interpersonal skillsย with the ability to work effectively as a team member and independently.

Desired additional qualifications:

  • Direct experience supporting ONR, the Naval Research Enterprise, or a similar S&T organization.
  • Proven ability to liaise effectively with senior military, government, and civilian personnel.
  • Proficiency withย Microsoft Power Apps.
