Role:


The Membership Development Officer will help grow Credit Union membership by identifying and making contacts with potential SEGs while maintaining EFCU's membership development program covering Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Walton, Escambia, FL and Escambia, AL counties. Responsible for representing EFCU at various community events to promote the benefits of Credit Union membership.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Provides unmatched member service to current and future FOM/SEGs and cultivates ongoing relationships to keep them informed of Credit Union membership benefits, special promotions, changes, and answers questions.

Serves as Credit Union ambassador to our business community. Represents EFCU in area Chambers of Commerce and serves on committees and organizational boards for the mutual benefit of EFCU and the communities it serves.

Makes contact with potential SEGs by phone and in person to grow membership in underserved locations within the Field of Membership to promote the benefits of Eglin FCU membership.

Provides presentations to new SEG groups and participates in employee benefit fairs to develop and strengthen relationships, and to promote Eglin FCU's products and services.

Represents the Credit Union at Military events and conducts presentations at approved briefings.

Works with the Membership Development Rep in preparing NCUA Field of Membership (FOM) amendments to Eglin FCU's Charter; including adding new Select Employee Groups (SEGs), and requests for SEG housekeeping changes.

Works closely with the SVP of Membership and Community Development to advance and maintain Eglin FCU's membership development program covering Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Walton, Escambia, FL and Escambia, AL counties.

Provides feedback and suggested improvements related to membership development and retention strategies to the SVP of Membership and Community Development.

Maintains statistics related to membership development programs and provides reports to the SVP of Membership and Community Development on a monthly basis.

Collaborates with Membership Development Rep to maintain the FOM on the Intranet and website by adding new SEGs, updating active SEGs and suppressing inactive SEGs.

Facilitates annual training to front-line employees on FOM/SEG development.

Assists with special events such as Annual Meeting, Open House, employee activities, marketing promotions, and youth programs.


Performance Measurements:

Promote the Credit Union's Image and growth in the communities we serve.

Develop and close leads through FOM/SEG membership process.

Enhance relationships with SEGs and community partners.

4.

Serve as EFCU representative in the community through community events.

Measure and report community involvement activity and success.

Knowledgeable of NCUA's Field of Membership manual.

Possess strong presentation and facilitation skills.

8.

Maintain flexible work hours and ability to work independently.

9.

Promote the Credit Union with professionalism and high energy.


Knowledge and Skills:


Experience

Three years to five years of similar or related experience. Marketing and Public Relations experience is preferred.


Education

(1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., project management certifications). Degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications is preferred.


Interpersonal Skills

Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others are key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
