We currently have an opportunity for a Senior New Business Development to join our Personal Lines team in our New York (NY), Melville (NY), Berkeley Heights (NJ), Wall (NJ), Fairfield (CT), Blue Bell (PA) offices on a Hybrid work schedule.

POSITION SUMMARY

In this position, you will develop marketing and target strategies to identify high net worth personal lines clients in conjunction with leading private client advisors in the Northeast Region. You will work with new and existing centers of influence to build trust and provide strategic advice for their personal insurance and risk management needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

New Business Placement

  • Receive new client opportunities; initiate and complete quoting process
  • Conduct thorough coverage analysis to identify client exposures and recommend appropriate coverage structures
  • Prepare and submit applications to carriers, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Negotiate favorable terms, conditions, and pricing with carrier underwriters
  • Develop and present coverage recommendations and options to clients in collaboration with Risk Advisors
  • Bind coverage upon client approval and ensure timely policy issuance
  • Manage multiple new business submissions simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment

Client Onboarding

  • Execute comprehensive onboarding process for new clients, ensuring all documentation is complete
  • Coordinate welcome communications and introduction to ongoing service team
  • Ensure accurate and complete data entry into agency management systems
  • Prepare comprehensive transition documentation for handoff to Account Executives
  • Conduct warm handoff meetings to ensure seamless client transition to service team

Carrier and Internal Relationships

  • Maintain strong working relationships with carrier underwriters at target markets
  • Stay current on carrier appetites, guidelines, and underwriting requirements
  • Collaborate closely with Risk Advisors to understand client needs and ensure appropriate coverage placement
  • Partner with Account Executives to ensure smooth transitions and ongoing client satisfaction
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Minimum 5 years of personal lines experience in a similar role with an insurance agency or brokerage working with national carriers
  • A valid Property & Casualty insurance broker's license
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Proven experience with new business placement through carriers such as Chubb, AIG, PURE, and Travelers
  • Experience with PL Rater and/or agency management systems such as EPIC or TAM
  • Self-driven, results-oriented professional with a passion for sales, relationship building, and business development
  • Exceptional business acumen with the ability to grasp broad strategic concepts and tactical operational considerations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver polished sales presentations, both prepared and impromptu
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Persuasive and engaging communicator who is empathetic, diplomatic, and follows through on commitments
  • Independent thinker capable of making sound decisions, while also collaborating effectively within a team

The expected salary range for this position is $90,000 to $100,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope and level.
