Marketing Intern - Sunda New Asian (Detroit)
Location: Detroit, MI
Hours: 15-20 hours per week
Compensation: $18/hour

Our Detroit location sits at the intersection of food, nightlife, and community, making local engagement a key driver of our success.
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and outgoing Marketing Intern to support local store marketing efforts in Detroit. This role is ideal for someone interested in hospitality, brand building, and community engagement, with a strong desire to gain hands-on experience in grassroots marketing.
You will play an active role in building relationships throughout the local community, supporting event-driven marketing efforts, and ensuring our in-market presence is both consistent and impactful.
Key Responsibilities
Local Business Development & Networking
  • Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, including hotels, apartment buildings, corporate offices, and retail partners (boutiques, salons, spas, fitness studios, etc.)
  • Introduce Sunda to local partners with the goal of driving guest traffic and referrals
  • Identify opportunities for cross-promotion, partnerships, and community engagement
  • Represent the brand in a polished and professional manner within the local market

Local Event Marketing
  • Monitor and maintain a calendar of local events, activations, and happenings across Detroit
  • Identify opportunities for Sunda to participate in, support, or capitalize on local events
  • Assist in executing grassroots marketing efforts tied to these opportunities

Marketing Operations & Inventory
  • Manage and track marketing collateral inventory (e.g., gift cards, promotional materials, networking leave-behinds)
  • Conduct regular inventory counts with the team and maintain organized tracking logs
  • Coordinate reorders to ensure materials are always available and up to standard

Additional Support
  • Assist with market research and competitive analysis as needed
  • Support the marketing team with ad hoc projects and initiatives
