Job description

We’re growing! And looking for a passionate, driven, and energetic candidate to join our Development team for the position of Development Coordinator located at our office in Guelph, ON. This is an in-office position.
Compensation: Starting at $60,000.00 annually plus bonus.
As a Development Coordinator, you will be responsible for facilitating the Development team with planning for specific use of land and property development for residential, industrial, hotel, and retail projects. The position will also be responsible for various elements of contact, document control and deadline management regarding land use and developments while supporting Skyline's shared goal of creating meaningful value and an exceptional experience for our customers, our people and our communities.

What you will be doing:

  • Coordinating due diligence and feasibility studies for investigating new development opportunities.
  • Applying for, tracking, and controlling deadlines as required for city applications, construction documentation.
  • Facilitating regulatory duties such as re-zoning, development permits, site plans, and building permits.
  • Researching zoning ordinances, construction regulations and environmental restrictions.
  • Assisting in coordinating the work of architects, engineers, construction companies, and property managers. 
  • Provide general support to the Development team.
  • Coordinating with city or government agencies and community groups on property matters.
  • Establishing and maintaining excellent working relationships with all city and administration staff.
  • Organizing, attending and participating in internal stakeholder meetings.

What we look for:

  • Excellent researching skills.
  • An understanding of real estate valuation and finance.
  • Previous exposure to the analysis, acquisition, entitlement, development and marketing of residential land.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively while remaining detailed-oriented.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Post-secondary degree in Real Estate, Land Use Planning, Business, or other related education required.
  • One (1) year minimum experience in the residential real estate industry, multi-family residential and mixed-use projects would be an asset.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
