Job description

Apartment Maintenance Technician

Join the maintenance staff at one of Kansas Citys premier Apartment Communities. Oddo Development is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join the maintenance team at one of our luxury apartment community.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure service requests are completed timely and in accordance with company standards the first time to avoid call backs.
  • Participate in community preventative maintenance and improvement plan.
  • Assist supervisor in controlling expenses.
  • Responsible for maintaining pool chemicals and cleaning.
  • Assist in make-ready process as needed.
  • Diagnose problems and make repairs in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, dry walling, exterior structure and appliance.
  • Enhance and maintain curb appeal by way of assisting in keeping grounds clean at all times.
  • Maintain the required uniform and ensure a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
  • Provide highest quality of customer service to residents and guests.
  • Maintain a professional courteous manner with all supplier partners, residents and employees.
  • Conducts all business in accordance with company policies and procedures and state and federal laws regarding fair housing, OSHA and ADA.
  • Operate within safety policies at all times.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by Community Manager or Maintenance Supervisor.

Position Requirements:

  • 3-4 years of experience in general apartment maintenance, including basic pluming & electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, pool maintenance, and appliance repair
  • HVAC Universal Certification (Type I & 2 are acceptable)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated, detailed and organized
  • Willingness and availability to work rotating on-call schedule and help with snow removal

WORKING CONDITIONSย 

Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. There will be a frequent need to work in awkward and confining positions.ย 

Physical Demands

Constant need to be standing on feet, bending/stoop/squat/kneel, climb stairs, push or pull, reach above shoulder level, climb ladders, grasp/grip and finger dexterity to handle tools and equipment. The employee must be physically fit to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.ย
