CHILD CARE ASSOCIATE

GLENWOOD COMMUNITY SCHOOLS CLASSIFIED STAFF JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Child care Associateย ย  ย  (ages 6 wks.-2)

Qualifications: ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  ย 

ย  ย  ย  ย  Previous experience working with children.

ย  ย  ย  ย  High school diploma or equivalent.

ย  ย  ย  ย  Good communication skills with the public.

ย  ย  ย  ย  First-Aid / CPR certified

ย  ย  ย  ย  Provide an acceptable criminal records check.

Essentialย  Function: Ability to lift 35 lbs., works flexible hours, and has regular attendance.

Reports To: Lead teacher, Coordinator, OnSite Supervisorย 

Consults With: Parents, staff

Position Goal: To provide a safe, nurturing, and well-organized day care environment with developmentally appropriate activities in which children can learn and grow.

Performance Responsibilities:

. ย  ย  ย  Attendance is necessary to be successful in this position.

ย  ย  ย  ย  Maintains open communication with parents at the beginning and end of the day.

ย  ย  ย  ย  Helps with the feedings of children (bottle, jar food).

ย  ย  ย  ย  Sees to the diapering needs of children.

ย  ย  ย  ย  Engages in positive and age appropriate social interactions.

ย  ย  ย  ย  Encourages playing and sharing harmoniously with other children.

ย  ย  ย  ย  Maintaining proper child discipline in accordance to the Kids Place discipline policy.
