Float Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) - Sequoia Care

We revolutionize therapeutic care through our exceptional Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy services, with a focus on delivering quality outcomes that prioritize each individual's unique needs.
The Float Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Program is designed to provide flexible clinical coverage across multiple outpatient therapy clinics located within assisted living and senior living communities. Float PT serves as a regional clinical resource in the region, ensuring continuity of care during vacations, vacancies, increased patient census, and leave coverage while helping expand therapy services across the organization.

What We're Looking For:
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the practicing state
  • Additional certifications or registry as required
  • A strong understanding of the needs of patients, colleagues, and the broader community
  • A commitment to delivering compassionate, quality care

Clinical Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat outpatient orthopedic, neurological, and geriatric patients.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Perform re-evaluations and discharge planning.
  • Document services accurately and timely within EMR.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, and caregivers.
  • Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and fall prevention.

Float Coverage Responsibilities
  • Provide temporary coverage for:
    • PTO and vacation relief
    • Medical leaves
    • Open positions
    • Census fluctuations
    • New clinic launches
  • Adapt quickly to varying clinic workflows and patient populations.
  • Maintain clinical consistency across all assigned locations.

Program Development
  • Assist with community wellness initiatives.
  • Conduct balance and fall-risk screenings.
  • Support marketing events within assisted living communities.
  • Participate in physician and referral partner outreach when needed.
