Job description

Before Care Staff

The Community Charter School of Paterson is seeking Before-Care staff to join our schools.ย 

The Before Care Staff member is responsible for coordination of the before school care program. This individual ensures a safe, engaging, and welcoming environment for students before the start of the school day. Staff arrival is at 7:00 AM, with student entry from 7:15 AM to 7:45 AM. CCSP Teaching staff members will transition to their homeroom at 7:45AM while all other Before-Care Staff members assist with the studentsโ€™ transition to their homeroom. Students will transition to their homeroom at 8:00 AM.ย 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Program Assistance:

    • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities for students.

    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment.

  2. Student Engagement:

    • Welcome students as they arrive and ensure they are engaged in activities.

    • Monitor student behavior and implement disciplinary measures when necessary.

    • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere.

  3. Safety and Compliance:

    • Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including emergency procedures.

    • Conduct regular safety checks of the facility and equipment and report findings to Before Care Coordinator

    • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and incidents.

  4. Communication:

    • Communicate effectively with parents, addressing any concerns or questions.

    • Coordinate with school administration and teachers regarding student needs.

    • Provide regular updates on the programโ€™s activities and progress.

    • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or General Education Development (GED)ย 

  • 1 Year of Experience in childcare

  • Spanish speaking preferred
