Job description

Schedule/Hours: M - F 9:00am - 4:30pm
Salary: $60, 000 (Exempt)
This position is responsible for:
Supervises and monitors the day-to-day operation of a Community Center including operation hours, facility maintenance, security, program development and promotion, and recreational activities; ensures center operates in compliance with The Salvation Army mission, policies, and proceduresReports to Corps Officers and are responsible for leading all aspects of the Community Center business, fundraising, and programming operations; supervises employees, volunteers, and seasonal employees.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversees opening/closing of the Community Center in compliance with established operating hours; ensures the center is properly secured during non-operating hours.
Inspect facility on a regular basis to detect needed repairs in a timely manner; ensure that all center equipment is properly maintained and used by patrons to guarantee long life of equipment.
He has oversight of all research, plans, developments, schedules, promotes, implements, and monitors recreational programs and activities for all age groups based on the needs and interest of the local community.
Schedules, facilitates, and/or supervises activities occurring at the center such as sporting events, community outreach events, tutoring classes, adult education classes, senior programs, craft classes, games, field trips, etc.; after school programs and summer camps, monitors activities hosted or conducted by outside groups.
Overseas the monitoring of all patrons visiting the Community Center to ensure compliance with rules and regulations, facility use agreement and insurance requirements to ensure their safety.
Direct and coordinates activities of the operation to ensure the program progresses on schedule and within prescribed budgets in compliance with grant requirements.
Ensures that all employee timecards are completed accurately, signed by assigned supervisor and employee, and submitted in a timely manner.
Develops and implements fund-raising activities to generate funds for programs in coordination with the Development department. Build and maintain effective and positive relationships with the public and other community agencies and church groups to promote awareness of the Community Center activities.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
Ability to remain certified and become certified for job specific certifications.
Ability to maintain driver's license and TSA insurance requirements.
Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor recreational environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or in Social Services, Child Development, or a related field.
AND
Three years progressively responsible experience developing and implementing recreational programs with at least one year in a supervisory capacity,
OR
Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Valid Florida State Driver's License
First Aid and CPR Certification
DCF - Florida Child Care and Education Program Director Credential
DCF - Staff Credential Verification
