The Organization

Vitalant is one of the nation's largest nonprofit blood and biotherapies healthcare organizations, helping save and improve lives every day through its essential role in connecting donors, hospitals, healthcare providers, and patients. Headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, the organization has evolved from its roots as a regional blood provider into a nationally integrated healthcare enterprise recognized for its operational excellence, scientific leadership, and community impact. More than a blood services organization, Vitalant serves as a critical component of the nation's healthcare infrastructure, supporting hospitals and health systems with the blood products, clinical expertise, laboratory capabilities, and innovation required to care for patients across trauma, emergency medicine, oncology, transplantation, and other lifesaving areas of care.
What distinguishes Vitalant is its ability to integrate donor engagement, blood collection, manufacturing, laboratory services, clinical expertise, research, and innovation into a single national platform. This unique combination of mission, scale, and scientific leadership has positioned the organization at the forefront of blood services, helping shape industry standards, advance blood safety, strengthen healthcare delivery, and improve outcomes for patients nationwide.
