What is a Community Blood Bank?

A Community Blood Bank is an organization that collects, tests, processes, and distributes donated blood to hospitals and medical facilities within a specific region. These banks rely on voluntary blood donations from community members to maintain a steady supply for patients in need, such as those undergoing surgery, cancer treatment, or emergency care. Their work ensures that safe and compatible blood products are available when and where they are needed most. Community Blood Banks also promote blood donation awareness and organize drives to encourage more people to give blood.
