Commercial Loan Assistant/Senior Commercial Loan Assistant

Barkley Financial Center | Hybrid Work from Home (3 days per week in office)

Bellingham, WA

Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm | 40 hours per week

A Day in Your Life at Peoples Bank:

As a Commercial Loan Assistant/Senior Commercial Loan Assistant, you will be responsible for providing leadership and assisting Commercial Banking Officers in growing and managing their commercial loan portfolios through the development and maintenance of customer relationships.

Your Primary Responsibilities Would Include:

• Handling customer account and loan inquiries.
• Ordering and reviewing required outside documents for credit approval and loan file.
• Ordering and reviewing loan documents and title policies.
• Ensuring necessary borrowing entity documents are in the loan file (partnership, LLC, trust, corp.)
• Disbursing loan proceeds and executing wire transfers to facilitate loan closings.
• Creating and maintaining credit files.
• Coordinating Escrow, including preparing Escrow Instructions and closings with outside Escrow agents or managing RE closing process for qualifying in-house closings.
• Preparing and recording Real Estate and other security documents (i.e. Deeds of Trust, Assignment of Rents, Subordination Agreements, Modification of DOT, etc.)
• Managing the maturing loan report.
• Managing loan delinquencies and alerting commercial loan officers and the Credit Administrator to problems or unusual trends and addressing problem areas immediately.
• Preparing asset quality reporting.
• Tracking major accounts for scheduled calls.
• Accepting and processing loan advances.
• Preparing decline/withdrawn letters and loan packages.
• Preparing commitment letters and letters of credit.
• Maintaining full knowledge of all lending regulations and compliance.
• Maintaining full knowledge of Peoples Bank loan policy and procedures.

Requirements

What You Bring to the Team:

• You have a high school diploma or equivalent and may have a bachelor's degree.
• For Commercial Loan Assistant - You have a minimum of 2 years' banking or relevant experience.
• For Senior Commercial Loan Assistant - You have a minimum of 3-4 years' Commercial Loan Assistant or equivalent work experience. 
• You have knowledge of and can comply with loan policies and procedures.
• You have knowledge of lending and bank operations.
• You have excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• You have excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• You are mature, outgoing, and have a professional attitude with customers, prospects, and co-workers.
• You are proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and Financial Statement Analysis software.
• You have the ability to make sound decisions, prioritize work, meet deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
• You have strong interpersonal skills including professional etiquette and service mentality.
• You have strong business communication skills, both verbal and written.
• You can travel to other Peoples Bank locations and off-site for meetings as required.
• You have a professional demeanor and high regard for confidentiality.

Salary Range in Bellingham, WA

**This opportunity may be filled at the Commercial Loan Assistant or Senior Commercial Loan Assistant level. The appropriate level will be determined based on the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, and related professional experience. Compensation within the posted salary range will be based on qualifications and experience.

Minimum to Maximum

$23.54 - $31.85 per hour

Senior Commercial Loan Assistant

Minimum to Maximum

$24.37 - $36.56 per hour
