ABOUT THE JOB

We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Veteran & Community Engagement Associate to play a pivotal role in strengthening our connections with the veteran community and local partners.
Operating under the strategic guidance of the Head of Veteran and Community Engagement, you will be instrumental in executing our projects supporting veteran hiring initiatives and community activation strategies. This role offers the unique opportunity for a self-starter to take ownership of key engagement activities, build meaningful relationships, and contribute to our mission with independent action and fresh ideas.

WHAT YOU'LL DOVeteran Talent Acquisition & Networking:
  • Act as a brand ambassador for Anduril at veteran-focused networking events and industry conferences.
  • Coordinate logistics and represent Anduril at veteran events, ensuring a compelling and welcoming presence.
  • Support the development and distribution of materials tailored for these events
Community Activation & Event Execution
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute community engagement events, such as local meetings, sporting events, volunteer activities, and civic gatherings.
  • Manage event logistics from concept to completion, including venue selection, vendor coordination, attendee communication, and on-site management.
  • Represent Anduril at community events, fostering positive relationships and promoting our brand values.
  • Identify new opportunities for community partnerships and activations that align with our strategic goals.
Data Management & Internal Communication
  • Develop and maintain organized databases for veteran candidates, community partners, event participants, and engagement metrics.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for all engagement activities and contribute to regular reports on program effectiveness and impact.
  • Ensure consistent and repeatable internal communication regarding veteran and community initiatives, keeping stakeholders informed and aligned.
  • Prepare internal updates, success stories, and presentations to share program progress and impact across the organization.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., HR, Marketing, Talent Acquisition, Comms) to align messaging, share best practices, and maximize reach.
Operational Excellence
  • Operate with a high degree of independence in execution, translating strategic objectives into actionable plans and tangible results.
  • Proactively identify challenges and propose solutions, demonstrating a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively for assigned events and programs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree completed within the last 1-2 years (e.g., Government Affairs, Political Science, Communications, Marketing, or a related degree).
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, especially in event planning and data management.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a natural ability to build rapport and relationships.
  • Demonstrated passion for supporting veterans and/or engaging with local communities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Individuals with a background in military service (veteran, active duty, reserve) or participation in ROTC programs are especially encouraged to apply. Your demonstrated abilities in leadership, structured execution, adaptability, and organizational excellence are highly relevant to this role and our mission.
  • A proactive, "can-do" attitude with a genuine desire to learn and take initiative.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable with learning new technologies/CRM systems.
  • Previous internship or volunteer experience in event coordination, community outreach, project management, or a similar field is a plus.
  • Ability to travel 25% to attend conferences, events, and community meetings.
