SFCS is seeking a Project Manager to join our Roanoke, Virginia office. This position offers the opportunity to lead medium- to large-scale projects while collaborating with architects, engineers, interior designers, and planners in a multidisciplinary environment.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced project management professional who enjoys leading multidisciplinary teams, building strong client relationships, and delivering successful projects from concept through construction. The ideal candidate demonstrates sound technical judgment, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to exceptional client service while continuing to grow as a project leader.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed Architect preferred; candidates actively pursuing licensure are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience independently managing architectural projects through all phases of design and construction.
  • Experience serving senior living, healthcare, education, government, or other institutional clients.
  • Strong understanding of project delivery methods, construction documentation, construction administration, and contract administration.
  • Experience with AIA agreements, project budgeting, scheduling, and client relationship management.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, Newforma, and CRM software.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and mentor early career professionals.
Responsibilities
  • Manage projects through all phases of planning, design, documentation, and construction administration.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering strong relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, staffing plans, and project deliverables.
  • Assist with or manage AIA agreements and contract administration, including identifying and negotiating additional services when project scope changes.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, interior designers, consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless project coordination.
  • Oversee project documentation utilizing Revit, AutoCAD, and Newforma while maintaining quality and consistency throughout project delivery.
  • Provide technical oversight and coordinate project reviews to ensure compliance with firm standards, client expectations, and applicable codes.
  • Participate in construction administration activities, including shop drawing review, responses to RFIs, site observations, and evaluation of proposed changes.
  • Mentor and support early career team members while fostering a collaborative and positive team environment.
  • Monitor project progress, proactively identify and resolve challenges, and communicate project status with clients and internal leadership.
  • Stay current with evolving building codes, technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Willingness and ability to travel periodically in support of project assignments, client meetings, site visits, and collaboration across SFCS offices.
