What is a communications graduate assistant?

Communications Graduate Assistants are graduate students who support university communications departments or faculty by assisting with tasks such as public relations, event planning, social media management, research, and administrative duties. They often help with creating and editing content, coordinating promotional activities, and supporting classroom or departmental projects. These positions provide hands-on experience in the field of communications while the student pursues their graduate studies. Graduate Assistants typically receive a stipend or tuition assistance in exchange for their work.

The role often requires balancing multiple priorities, collaborating with faculty and staff, and adapting to fast-paced deadlines, all of which provide valuable hands-on experience for future communications roles.
