Job description

Acuity is seeking a General Manager - Marketing & Communication to oversee communications directed toward employees, agents, and customers, ensuring brand consistency and effective communication strategies that align with the company's vision and goals. This position supervises and sets the strategic direction for the Marketing & Communication team, supports their professional growth and training, and writes and delivers formal performance appraisals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Develop and implement holistic communication strategies that deliver cohesive messaging to engage internal and external audiences.
  • Create strategic marketing plans to meet future needs and expectations for Acuity, including monitoring market dynamics to develop and/or change strategic and tactical approaches.
  • Develop and maximize programs to engage target audiences across stages of their journey, integrating communication strategies that drive desired outcomes.
  • Lead creative development processes and promote creativity in marketing communications.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent corporate image throughout all Acuity product lines, promotional materials, and events.
  • Build positive, collaborative relationships with internal and external partners to align communication efforts with business objectives.
  • Actively participate with leadership team to align on strategic vision and organizational objectives. Collaborate with leaders to ensure marketing & communication strategies support overall organizational objectives.
  • Energetically engage and support change leadership with an open-mind and continuous learning mindset. Partner to align teams during times of organizational change to align on clear, consistent, transparent messaging.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices in communication and brand management.
  • Mentor the professional development of team, including providing ongoing training, direction, and guidance to ensure a motivated and productive team.
  • Instrumental in the interviewing process of potential employees.
  • Manage budgets costs, on a monthly or campaign basis.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
Master's degree in marketing preferred or relevant MBA.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Several years of direct experience in marketing field including online or traditional marketing strategies, understanding customer needs and patterns, current market conditions, and competitor information.
  • Experience in the insurance industry: product knowledge, understanding of independent agent dynamics, customer needs and competitive positioning.
  • Proven communication and relationship building skills that advances a sense of teamwork and culture.
  • Prior management experience preferred.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
